What was built

True is a Chromium build for AI and Web3 use, designed from the start around privacy rather than having privacy features added afterward. That distinction matters at the engineering level: building privacy into the architecture means decisions about data handling, defaults and browser behavior are made early and run through the browser's core, rather than sitting in a separate settings panel bolted on later. The AI and Web3 orientation shares that same foundation, since both depend on how the browser handles requests, storage and identity by default.

The engineering challenge

Designing privacy in from the start, instead of adding it later, constrains decisions across the rest of the browser: request handling, storage and default behavior all have to agree with the privacy model from day one. Retrofitting privacy after those decisions are already made is possible, but it usually means undoing and redoing earlier work; building it in from the start avoids that, at the cost of touching more of the browser upfront.
